PHI Review Submission (Aug 2019)

One of the first tasks for the ANC was to recently prepare a submission for the ‘Australian Government Rebate for Private Health Insurance – the Terms of Reference Review 2019’. As a group the ANC provided recent evidence-based research in support of naturopathy, which we hope will aid in seeking the reinstatement of the PHI rebates. We also reiterated the importance for members of the Natural Therapies Review Expert Advisory Panel to have both expertise in research and an understanding of the professions being examined. For this reason, we proposed the inclusion of individuals based on personal expertise and experience rather than appointing committee members based only as representatives of specific organisations.
